Just For Fun: Design Using Your Brain Waves

It’s been a while since my last post, but I wanted to quickly share this …interesting? innovative?…”je ne sais quoi” article on two European designers who used their brain waves to design a piece of furniture!

Not what we usually mean by using your brain to do something, eh?

They did, literally, design a sofa using their brain waves. Well, the shape of their brain waves.

They took a 3-second clip of one of them producing alpha waves (you know, the ones you produce in abundance when you get all nice and relaxed and chilled out) and used the 3D shape to create a same-shaped sofa for…well…chilling out.

You’ve got to take a peek!

The article from Scientific American is here: Head Chaise: Couching One’s Thoughts into a Brain Wave Sofa

But do go see the slide show as well for the images of brain waves and how those became a couch

Hmmm..could delta waves create a bed? beta waves an office chair? What’s next????
